International Visitors

The ISS World Expo is proud to be a world-class tradeshow and welcomes its international visitors! This section features information about your letter of invitation, visa application form, and links to locate your U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Whether you’re an attendee or exhibitor, you must do several things well in advance to prepare for your trip. The U.S. government has instituted new, tighter visa requirements for non-immigrant applicants. This may lengthen the time it takes to process your application. Get an early start on the process by obtaining all the necessary documentation.

Generally, international travelers need a visa to enter the U.S. Travelers from eligible countries may be able to visit through the visa waiver program (VWP). If you are from a country that does not participate in the VWP, you will need to make an appointment with your U.S. Embassy or Consulate for a visa interview.

The U.S. government requires residents of many countries to obtain a temporary visa before entering the country. Recent
changes to the application process may have increased the length of time required to receive your visa. It’s very important to apply at least 90 days prior to departure. For information on policies and procedures, visit the U.S. visas website.

During the ISS World Expo online registration process, you will have the opportunity to request a visa invitation letter. You must be registered to receive one.

The turnaround time for most visa applications is 30 days, but in some cases, it may take considerably longer. It’s recommended that you apply for your visa two to three months before your scheduled trip to avoid delays in processing. You may contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for current wait times.

Appropriate documentation, such as an invitation letter, can help demonstrate that the purpose of your trip is to attend or exhibit at the ISS World Expo and you intend to return home.

  • International visitors may access the letter of invitation through the registration system once they have completed registration for the show.
  • Only ISS World Expo attendees and exhibitors qualify for the letter.
  • At the end of the registration process, go to the registration dashboard and click on “Visa Invitation Letter.” Your information will automatically populate in the appropriate fields, and you will be able to download and print a copy.
  • You may use your personalized letter and a copy of your registration confirmation in your visa interview as supporting documentation from Inside Self-Storage World Expo and/or Informa Markets.
  • Emailed copies of your invitation letter may be accepted as part of your visa application, but you should review your U.S. Embassy or Consulate's website for specific requirements.

If you require a visa invitation letter before our registration system opens in January, or you need assistance, please contact us directly at 212.951.6683, 866.860.1970 or [email protected]. We’ll be happy to process your request.

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables citizens of 27 countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business without obtaining a visa. VWP travelers must present a machine-readable passport at the U.S. post of entry to enter the country. To obtain a complete list of exempt countries visit the VWP website.

All travelers coming to the U.S. are subject to the U.S. customs/immigration laws. Visitors are required to possess a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the period of their intended stay. Visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website for more information about documents required for foreign travelers.
